Clown Down chapter seven notes

A&L talk to the shoulder doll

- Tells them where CS is

- Tells them why CS was captured

A&L take the shoulder doll with them OR A is too badly injured so it’s just L and Lucille, the shoulder doll.

A&L resolve their feelings in a discussion OR just L and Lucille
L on killing dolls and being a government agent
A on clown society and what she will do after the mission
Lucille on what will happen to her. She hopes she will be repaired, but she is worried about being melted down.

A&L captured on the road
A&L taken before QA
QA thinks they are plague-bearing reinforcements
Shoulder doll (Lucille) may talk in their defence. But does this effect her chances of repair vs melt-down?

QA believes that the clowns are not planning to invade but doesn’t think she has to help them fight the plague. Are they free to go? They are doll murderers but do the dolls have a concept of murder? After all the destroyed dolls will just be remanufactured, and dolls don’t grow up and have children.
Perhaps the clowns must pay for remanufacture? They are imprisoned with CS while QA thinks of a way to do this.

What are dolls like? What are their values?
They are made in a factory by order of the queen, not born. New queens get made too, occasionally.
Dolls are deceitful behind their mask-like faces.
Also ruthless.

Clown Down chapter one notes

Chapter one notes

Looby fights with his alarm clock

- holds it with his hand but his arm vibrates

- covers it with the duvet but it “chews” its way through

- this causes down to fill the air. Looby stuffs his ears with down and goes back to sleep.

- The smell of bacon wakes him up properly.

Looby washes

- water in the shower is either scalding or icey

Looby exercises

- touches toes, with assistance or by raising his very long toes. With his back to the wall he rocks back on his heels and raises his toes.

- press ups.

Looby has breakfast

- The bacon is so overcooked that he cannot cut it with his knife so he cuts the cutlery with the bacon and eats that instead.

Looby wants to play with Tibbles

- Mrs Looby tells him he ought to go to work

- scratching at the door triggers Looby to ask Mrs Looby if Tibbles has been fed. He has not.

- Looby pours out the contents of a sack labelled “cat food”. The sack contains chunks of raw meat.

- Looby ooby throws the door open and stands with arms open. Tibbles, a full-grown tiger, bounds in and knocks him over as it bounds to get to its breakfast

Phone call from the mayor

- Looby thinks it is the fire alarm and gets his helmet out of a cupboard

- Mrs Looby refers to the Mayor as Daddy

* Looby can do acrobatics

* If Safe Children reality invades Clown reality then Tibbles is a threat to Mrs Looby.
